Indigenous Knowledge Use and Protection policy in development

June 21, 2023

NTRKC is in the process of developing an Indigenous Knowledge Use and Protection policy that incorporates and addresses the unique Indigenous Knowledge protection customs and needs of the Indigenous communities. This policy will apply to all NTRKC activities, and will consider:

1) how NTRKC will manage Indigenous Knowledge in relationship to all parties, including Indigenous communities, researchers, external organisations and others, and
2) how external researchers, government, academic institutions, industry and others will work with the communities to access and use Indigenous Knowledge.

This work is ongoing and is supported by the Firelight Group.
